Our Story
Phoolbag was created to bring structure, freshness, and reliability to flowers that carry prayers, celebrations, and memories across Kolkata.
প্রতিটি পাপড়িতে যত্ন, প্রতিটি ফুলে শ্রদ্ধা
Built by engineers. Rooted in culture. Guided by care.
We grew up in homes where flowers were never decorative objects. They were part of our daily rhythm — marigold and rajnigandha in the morning, lotus and roses during puja, flowers marking moments both ordinary and sacred.
Years later, as students of Food Technology and Biochemical Engineering at Jadavpur University, we began to notice a quiet disconnect. An industry so deeply tied to devotion and celebration was operating without structure, consistency, or care.
Freshness was unpredictable. Quality changed daily. Weddings and rituals depended on last-minute bargaining rather than trust.
Phoolbag was born from that realization — to apply discipline, process, and accountability to flowers, without disturbing their cultural soul.
Founders & Artisans
Honoring roots, building systems.
Phoolbag is intentionally local. By operating within a close radius, we preserve freshness, accountability, and human connection—bringing structure to an otherwise unorganized flower ecosystem.
Freshness You Can Rely On
Morning rituals demand discipline. We source fresh flowers daily, sort them by hand, and deliver before the city wakes—so devotion begins without uncertainty.
Crafted, Not Mass-Produced
Every wedding carries emotion and tradition. We design garlands that match attire, rituals, and regional customs—crafted fresh and delivered personally, never shipped.
Planned & Purposeful
From intimate ceremonies to celebrations and gifting, we prepare flowers with planning—not panic. Bouquets and event flowers are aligned to theme, time, and purpose.
Simple, Personal, Direct
For long-lasting décor and easy coordination, we offer handmade artificial flowers and direct WhatsApp ordering—no apps, no confusion, just conversation.
Phoolbag is designed as a neighborhood-first floral system. By staying close to our growers, artisans, and customers, we maintain freshness, accountability, and care at every step—from soil to doorstep.
We source flowers from small growers around Kolkata instead of relying entirely on congested wholesale markets. This allows better freshness, predictable quality, and fair, immediate payment.
Wedding garlands and ceremonial pieces are crafted by local women artisans. Work is flexible, respectful, and close to home—allowing skill, not speed, to define quality.
Unsold or excess flowers are not discarded casually. Wherever possible, they are repurposed for incense making or composted—keeping waste low and respect high.
Wedding garlands, event flowers, daily puja blooms, and thoughtful bouquets—crafted fresh with care and tradition.
